The BSIA warmly congratulates BSIA Faculty member Susan Horton, Professor of Health Economics in the School of Public Health and Health Systems, and the Department of Economics at the University of Waterloo, for being named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. Dr. Horton is among 87 new fellows elected by their peers for outstanding scholarly, scientific, and artistic achievement. She will be formally inducted into the prestigious society on Nov. 27, 2020. Recognition by the RSC is the highest honour an individual can achieve in the Arts, Social Sciences and Sciences.

“(Sue) is known internationally for her work on global health economics. Her work on economics of nutrition contributed significantly to successful efforts to emphasize nutrition investments in international policy. Her current work on economics of cancer and of diagnostics aims to increase attention to these topics within the Sustainable Development Goal for Universal Health Coverage. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences.”
